Why 'Diet Culture' is Failing Women

Why Diet Culture is Failing Women

Most restrictive diets aren't designed to fail you — but the underlying model (extreme restriction followed by inevitable rebound) almost guarantees it. Studies consistently show the majority of weight lost through severe restriction is regained within a few years.

Diet culture also tends to treat every body the same, ignoring hormonal health, life stage, stress levels and individual history — all of which shape what 'works' for a given person.

A more sustainable approach starts with building consistent habits: regular balanced meals, movement you actually enjoy, and enough sleep — rather than chasing a number on a scale.

Letting go of an all-or-nothing mindset is often the single biggest unlock for long-term change.
